V2Ray Download

v2rayN、v2rayNG、v2flyNG

For desktop, choose v2rayN. For Android, v2rayNG is the first choice, with v2flyNG as an alternative using the V2Fly core. Check your operating system before choosing a package architecture.

x64 package. Choose Desktop or WPF; Desktop is a good starting point for a first install.

v2rayN

7.24.1Windows x64
Recommended

Desktop uses a newer cross-platform UI; WPF is the classic, stable edition. Both let you manage subscriptions, choose nodes, and configure a proxy. Pick the interface that suits you.

The download is a ZIP archive. Extract all files before running the installer; don't launch it from the archive preview.

Choosing between Desktop and WPF

New users can start with Desktop; users familiar with the traditional Windows interface may prefer WPF. Different interfaces don't mean different subscription contents, and protocol support depends on the configuration and what the client supports. Before switching editions, export or note your existing groups, routing rules, and local settings. Don't copy the entire old configuration directly into the new folder.

First checks after installation

Install the program in a location your account can write to. If startup reports a missing runtime, install the component named in the error. If security software blocks the app, check which file was flagged and why. Ordinary system proxy use generally doesn't require running as administrator. Grant permissions when prompted for network features such as TUN.

If the client starts but your browser still isn't using the proxy, check the system proxy setting, then see whether another network tool has changed it. This is a connection configuration issue; reinstalling repeatedly won't help. See the v2rayN setup guide.

After installation

Import a subscription and make your first connection

Downloading is just the first step. Check your settings, connection mode, and real-world access in sequence to make issues easier to diagnose.

Prepare your configuration

Import a subscription group

Use a subscription URL you are authorized to access. Create a group in the client and update it. Subscription URLs may contain account credentials, so don't share the full URL in public screenshots or forums. If an update fails, check that the URL is valid and the subscription hasn't expired, then review the network path used for the request.

Node display names are just labels. Check the configuration and provider's documentation for the region, protocol, and transport settings; don't assume the actual exit location from a name alone. After importing, test one clearly available node first. There's no need to change all your routing and DNS settings at once.

Route your traffic

Choose a connection mode

On desktop, system proxy settings affect apps that follow the system proxy. TUN uses a virtual network interface to route eligible traffic. These aren't speed settings, and you don't need to enable both for more complete coverage. Choose one based on the apps you use and check the client's status.

On Android, the system VPN permission establishes the connection. Per-app proxy settings, routing rules, and DNS can still affect how individual apps connect. Disconnect the existing client before switching to avoid mistaking the old VPN connection for the new one.

Verify the result

Test the actual connection

Run the client's real connection test, then use a browser to check your exit IP and access to actual pages. A latency test only shows that its test path received a response; it doesn't prove that every site or app can connect.

If the browser works but another app doesn't, check whether that app follows the system proxy and whether routing rules send it direct. If all requests fail, try a known-good node, then check the subscription and network. Change one setting at a time and keep the original so you can revert and compare.

Download FAQs

Package and update questions

Check package choice, installation environment, and connection settings separately instead of treating every issue as a download failure.

v2rayN Desktop or WPF: which should you choose?

For a first install, try Desktop, which uses a newer cross-platform interface. WPF is the classic, stable edition for users familiar with the traditional Windows interface. Menus may differ between the two. Back up subscription groups and custom settings before switching, and avoid running both versions with system proxy control enabled at the same time.

Should I download the arm64 or universal Android version?

Most mainstream phones released after 2015 can start with arm64, but the device's supported app architecture is the deciding factor. If you don't know the architecture or see an incompatibility error, try the universal build. It supports more architectures, but won't fix an outdated OS, low storage, or a signature conflict.

The client is free. Do I still need a subscription?

All three clients are free to use, but the client itself doesn't provide a connection service. Before using one, obtain a subscription URL or server configuration you're authorized to use. Provider plans, data limits, and expiration dates are separate from installing the client. This site does not provide nodes or subscriptions.

What should I check first if the download won't open?

First, make sure the package matches your OS and device architecture, then extract or install it as required. On Windows, check the runtime and folder permissions indicated by the error. On macOS, review the specific message under Privacy & Security. On Android, check install permissions and signature conflicts. On Linux, review dependency issues reported by the package manager. Don't disable system security features outright.

Do I need to uninstall the old version before updating?

Back up subscription groups, routing rules, and custom settings, then quit the old client. For the same client installed the same way, follow the installer’s update instructions; whether settings are retained depends on its prompts. If changing interface editions, package sources, or signatures, don't overwrite the configuration directory or uninstall before making a backup.

How can I confirm the connection is working after installation?

Import and update your subscription, choose an available node, and connect. On desktop, make sure system proxy or TUN mode is enabled as needed. On Android, confirm the system VPN permission. Then run a real connection test and check the exit IP and actual browsing results. A latency test alone doesn't mean every app is using the proxy.
